Janet Johson

Janet Johnson is the proud mother of 5 Christians and now mentoring 13 grandchildren to become Christians. She is a retired educator, administrator, and former partnership Christian Church Children’s Director. She is currently the Boat Kid Club coordinator for CRAM and a Billy Graham Response Team Chaplain.

She first became interested in the Philippines when she heard Cy Kim present and preach at PCC in 2017. After making the first trip with Cy and Julie Hirschauer to the Philippines, she made two return visits. Her heart was touched by the love the people in the slum area of Bacoor city had for the Lord and how they totally depended upon Him for everything. On each return trip, she tried to share skills with the people to provide them with a way to help feed families.  

 

AWAKE international was born out of this desire to help people help themselves. As Julie and Janet brainstormed and prayed, the idea of sharing no-dig gardening, small animal husbandry, and providing micro-loans. AWAKE international was created. The individuals would be required to complete screening applications, bible discipleship training, and business training. This became a way to give struggling people a boost.  Janet is excited to come alongside established missionaries to carry out the goals of AWAKE and share the gospel wherever the Lord may lead.
